RENEWAL

Today, the way we make products is linear. We take materials and resources, create products and then eventually throw them away as waste.
In a circular economy, we mimic nature’s way of doing things by focusing on how we use resources and manufacture products and by having a plan for the materials and packaging afterwards to help stop waste from being created in the first place.

At Kiehl’s, this means that we source renewable and abundant ingredients, formulate with green chemistry, use upcycled and post-recycled materials in our packaging and stores, and power our manufacturing with renewable energy and a closed water loop. We are also evolving by introducing refillable products and packaging made with less material and recycling empty bottles and jars to be melted down into materials for the future.
While our mission is far from complete, we discover new ways to improve every day and remain committed to closing the loop for the health of our planet.

Kiehl’s first launched Recycle & Be Rewarded in 2009 and we have collected 14 million empty packages world-wide to date. Help us recycle another 15 million products world-wide by 2030 by bringing back your empty Kiehl’s product to our store.
